Healing Candle Tuesdays......
There is so much negative energy, pain and hurt in the world as it goes through the growing pains that we are experiencing everyday. Politics, Religious Conflicts, Environmental disasters, Hunger, Poverty, Bigotry and Silence are all things that contribute to the disharmony that we all feel from time to time.
The Tuesday Night Healing Candle was something that we started at the GreenMan Studios in 2014 to combat as much of this negativity as we can. It started by chance on Facebook on a Tuesday night. I was feeling a little at a loss for the state of the world after watching the news and I lit a candle for all of the people I had seen on the television. Being a photographer, I was playing around with my camera and the candle, experimenting with the light and the shadows. Some of the pictures turned out pretty interesting so I posted them on facebook with the intention behind it. It wasn't long before many of my facebook followers, being aware of what I do for a living, began to add names to the list. The first candle topped out at more than 200 names. This was a very powerful thing for me. It gave me assurance that I was not the only person feeling these negative emotions about the way the world was working. It gave me a sense of hope that there was still a lot of people out there who cared enough to send positive energy and caring to people who needed it. I posted it the next Tuesday and the number of comments grew. That is when I knew that there was something shifting and that I needed to continue to flow with it. Since that first candle, I have lit a healing candle every tuesday night without fail and posted it for my followers on Facebook. I have lit them on trips in France, Spain, New Orleans and New York. I have lit them at 3am after birthday celebrations and dinner parties. I feel that this is a VERY important thing to do and I know from the messages I receive thanking me for putting the candle out there every week, that other people feel the same. At the time that I am writing this, the most names our candle has ever had is a little over 600. We will continue to grow. My hope is that it helps everyone to know that there are people out there who care about them and that the energy sent can give them strength to continue through to the bright side of whatever it is that they are going through. Blessings to all of you and your loved ones. -Arthur Graye 04/08/2015 Please feel free to contact me with special candle requests through this site. You can also, if you feel so inclined, make a small donation to the studio to help cover costs of the various candles that we burn every week. |
